Finishing
Guidelines |
| |
|
|
| |
These
guidelines have been created to help you plan your digitally
printed banners. The illustrations on the following pages
will cover most of the fabrication options you will encounter,
but there are always exceptions to rules. |
| |
|
| |
The
illustrations contain a lot of dimensions. This is done to
help you determine: |
| |
 |
How much fabric to add around fixed
size graphics (live area), and |
| |
 |
How much you have to reduce graphic
sizes (live area) to fit inside a fixed size fabric panel |
| |
|
| |
If you have difficulty
with the dimensions, please call us at 800-926-7643. We will
be happy to help. |
| |
|
| |
Here
is more IMPORTANT INFORMATION you should read and understand. |
| |
1. |
Make sure that all sheets are cut
straight and square, especially those that will be laid back
to back for double face banners. |
| |
2. |
Consult us about banners that will
be installed in high wind or other abusive locations. |
| |
3. |
Ghosting on double face banners.
You can print on an opaque fabric, or we can insert a blackout
liner between faces. |
| |
4. |
Add
a minimum of 1" bleed around
the image so that there are no white edges showing when we
finish your banners. |
| |
5. |
On some double face banners, one
face may fold over onto the opposite face. Make sure that images
will match when this is done. An option is to make pockets
a solid color. |
| |
|
| |
WHY SEW? |
| |
No
finishing method is stronger or more versatile than sewing.
The strength of vinyl fabrics lies in the scrim, which is
sandwiched between the vinyl surfaces. Sewing mechanically
connects the scrims in hems and seams. Stress points on banners
can be reinforced with the addition of extra stitching. Welding
can effectively join two vinyl surfaces, but not the scrims. |

POCKET SIZES |
| |
Pockets
are sized to fit comfortably around a pole size that you
specify. Pockets should not be too tight. Make sure that
you understand the difference between the diameter of a pole,
and the circumference of the pole. The dimensions are different.
Use the following chart for your layout calculations. |

* Note that there is
no sewing within the pocket size dimension. (see illustrations) |
